Hair Funk: Messy Updo with a headband

So I've heard mixed reviews about the company www.birchbox.com but decided to give it a try anyway because everyone as their own opinion and I thought I'd share mine:) It's basically a site that for $10 a month sends you 4-5 hand picked samples a month. This is supposed to allow you to try the product and if you like it, purchase the full size from the birchbox website.

so firstly i was sooo excited when my little package arrived I LOVE receiving mail who doesn't? and not email.. its just NOT the same!!

The box doesn't honestly seem like it's worth $10 I don't know to me samples should be free lol and if I'm going to be sent some random samples I should be allowed to pick them out. (the nail polish color and lipgloss color they sent me are big no-no's!) oh but the candy bar was so, so good

DIY: Snow Nails

All you need is some some Kosher Salt, nail glue {it comes in a little tube, I got mine from Target}, and some clear top coat.

1. Paint your nails red {or any color you like}

2. After the polish is completely dry apply a line of nail glue to the tips of your nails

3. Now for the fun part:) dab your nail one by one into the kosher salt

[I just brushed off the excess salt using a toothpick]

4. Press the salt firmly onto your nails

5. Wait till they are completely dry and generously add a top coat

[if you have patience, wait till the top coat dries and add another coat]

voila!

Love packages are all wrapped up and ready to go

I did make an effort to stop by the post office yesterday however, the lines made me panic lol I'm sorry ladies it looks like these will go out after xmas *my apologies!

TUTORIAL: Making Bracelets Into Necklaces

So you're in the store and you see a jewelry collection that catches your eye and{since the majority of us can't afford to get the necklace and the bracelet + its gaudy being too matchy-matchy lol} you have a difficult time deciding do I get the bracelet or the necklace?

Get the bracelet.

It's usually less expensive and with this tutorial you can turn it into a necklace whenever you please:)

First you need a bracelet I'm using a Juicy Couture charm bracelet

and about 1 yard of ribbon {I got mine from Michaels} and a needle and some thread that matches your ribbon {i got this kit from the 99 cent store}

1. cut the ribbon in half

2. loop one end of the ribbon through the clasp and fold it over--about an inch or so {be sure to do this to the back of the bracelet}

3. Thread your needle and carefully {don't poke yourself!} weave the needle in and out

4. Bind off

5. Repeat to the other side

Voila! tie the lose ends together and you're all set.

Shady Lady by The Balm Palatte Vol. 3 Review and Swatches

I've had this palatte for awhile but decided to do a review on it NOW because it is on Hautelook and if there are any readers interested on purchasing the palattes I though it would be helpful.
First off, I really like the Balm products especially the e/s. They're very pigmented and with the proper primer last all day.

The first thing I noticed about this palatte were how vibrant the colors were, especially compared to the Shady Lady Vol. 2 palatte. But to be honest, none of the colors really WOWED me. {Well i take that back, I've developed a crush on come hither heather and guilty gwen reminds me a lot of mac black tide e/s} When i first opened the palatte I was a little confused about the "lusty lee" e/s lol {c'mon light blue, really?} however, when swatched it looks more pearl than light blue. bottom line: I would NOT re-purchase this palatte and if you don't own any of them I would suggest the vol 2 palatte:) I ordered another vol. 2 palatte and the vol.1 palatte from Hautelook.

Hana Blacklabel Shineshield Review

When I first received this product I was very excited to try it out mainly because I don't use any products to prevent my hair from heat damage {and believe me my hair dryer and flat iron are used and abused!}

I apply this product to my hair after shampoo/conditioner and my leave in conditioner treatment. The first thing I notice about all hair products is the smell. The Hana Shineshield has a nice, light floral scent to it. The product has a light consistency which made it easy to run through my hair {a little of this stuff goes a long way}. I've used this product for about a week now and I have noticed my hair is smoother and no longer has that "damaged", rough feel to it lol My hair also looks shinier and feels A LOT healthier. The price is $44.99 which {to me} is a more on the expensive side. However, I definitely feel it is worth it if you do have color treated hair {that's me} and/or your hair is damaged. To be honest I'm hesitant to try out new things. But I've only heard great things about both Shoedazzle and Jewelmint.

I am in LOVE with the way these look and fit. They are simply amazing. One comment I do have however is the soles of the shoes are very lightweight (the almost feel like cardboard??) and I can clearly see the glue seeping out of the edges= not the best quality :( which saddens me. Ill save these for a special occasion and mos def do an OOTD with them! Another plus is 20% off your first purchase.

Tight Curls Using the NUME Fashionista Flat Iron

NUME Flat Iron Review I am not a huge fan of styling my hair in any other way besides straight lol but I thought I'd try something different. I honestly didn't like it as soon as I finished however after I slept on it, I loved the way it looked in the morning!
Here is also the link I used to curl my hair using the flat iron. I think she does an awesome job of describing how to curl the hair. To get really tight curls I just started as close to my roots as possible and ran the flat iron down very slowly.

My hair is naturally wavy (with the occassional frizz) and I love the fact I can use this flat iron to not only straighten but to curl my hair as well=)

The first thing I noticed was obviously how cute this flat iron is! I also love the way it's so sleek and lightweight. This flat not only straightened my hair but made it feel soft and smooth and looked really shiny, I honestly cant stop touching it lol. I have a lot of hair {A LOT!} and found it very easy to work with. One thing I noticed was it didn't get as hot as my Chi flat iron which is a good because I'm sure it's doing less heat damage and I still obtain amazing results. (I think I'll do a NUME and Chi flat iron comparison in the future). I'm really happy with this flat iron and now use it on an everyday basis.

My Thoughts:
What I love? These lenses look amazing. They give your eyes a subtle hint of color without being overly dramatic. I wore them to school and received non stop compliments even from some of my friends you know the "did you do something with your makeup/hair? you look pretty today (as opposed to every other day when I'm a hot mess lol).
The lenses are def comfortable. I do have a slight astigmatism in my left eye and the lenses did not bother me at all.
The website is HUGE I could spend hours browsing through all the different contact lenses.
The customer service staff was nice and friendly with very fast responses=)

The company Cellnique had contacted me and and one of their representatives Selina asked me a few questions about my skin.

I explained to her that my skin is dry, dehydrated, and has a lot of little bumps around my nose area. My skin also tends to peel in the Winter/Spring months because of the cold, windy air.

The products she sent me were Cellnique's Intensive Hydrating Complex and The Soothing and Hydrating Lotion.
I have been using these 2 products consistently for about 3 weeks.

My Thoughts: It had a very light, pleasant smell (that's the first thing I always take into consideration). This is not a lotion, it is more of a toner (I used it every night after cleansing my face) and although it does feel good on my face I'm sure you could replicate the feeling with a couple of splashes of good old H2O. On the website it also say this products helps to even out skin tone which I noticed did work for the red splotches I have around my nose and on my cheeks.

My thoughts: A little goes a long way! I used this product after applying the Soothing and Hydrating Lotion. It always left my face feeling hydrated and so, so soft. When I first applied it to my face it was kind of sticky and felt gross however, I noticed it's effects immediately. My under eye bags have lightened in color and the small bumps surrounding my nose area have disappeared, and my skin has noticeable stopped peeling as much on my nose and upper cheek area. I really love this little bottle when I put it on my face, I feel like I'm wearing a facial mask lol

Spring Heart Eyelash Review

Some bloggers have been asking what type of eyelashes i wear.. I buy my eyelashes from the swap meet(oh yes!) and they are usually $1.00 however sometimes the lady (always the same one btw) is feeling generous and she gives em to me for 50 cents loll

Kinda expensive for falsies but they do come with glue thats not half baddd. It's super sticky however, does not dry clear ick! ( i think ill stick with DUO thank u veryy much).
The eyelashes arent super long and are very natural looking however I hate the band (its the rubbery-plastic-slippery kind) i like it when the band feels more like the actual lashes. Also these lashes are kind of short the dont go across my WHOLE lid (which i like). However, they are fairly easy to put on and lasted my about 4x use.

me and the bf have been saving for a mini vaca we have planned at the end of May but surprise, surprise, I fell off the wagon loll
Before today I have never set foot into a Lush store. Sure, Ive been gifted with the Celestial moisturizer, bath bombs, and Dream Cream (fyi, i swear by the stuff, its amazing! unfortunately they were sold out) but today was my first actual purchase and after spending 40 minutes in traffic, I now know why (why isnt anything close to my house?!) but it was well worth it(;

Everything smells delishhh! The masks do need to be refrigerated (so i guess u cant order them online?) and i love everything especially the rockstar soap i cant stop smelling it=amazing!
I will def make a purchase again and do reviews on some of the products.

Ever since being introduced to Hautelook, i would browse and browse (they have some awesome deals!) but never purchased anything, until the Stila cosmetic sale came around. Everything was so cheap who could resist?!... but do they always take so long to ship their items? I think mine took 5 weeks to come eeeek i didnt go too crazy just an eyeshadow palatte and some yummy lipgloss

Chronic Tacos and a Mini Haul

yesterdy we decided to hit up this place...

it was freezing, we always pick the wrong day to beach it. It was so hot on Sunday we kept saying how its the perfect time to go to the beach. Tuesday, not so much! Still had a blast it's hard not have fun with ppl who make you asdjfhtyhskjfiejfe 24/7=)

I also picked up a couple of things from my local Japanese market. My mom calls it the drugstore LOL she's so cute. This is the only place {locally} that sells DHC products. I've been wanting to try the Q10 cream forever and till today they are having it on sale for $33.50. It's a nice mustard yellow color and is pretty thick. It's only 1oz. tho and i think it will last me about a month so it is kinda pricey originally; but on sale not too bad(; Will do a review later.

I just got these eyelashes because the container was so darn cute! orig retail $3.99 plus it comes with glue the only glue i trust is the DUO brand but ill def give this a try. And of course pa nail polish arent they adorable? the gunmetal color is my fave retails $4.99 the sparkly one has pink confetti hearts and glitter in it retails $5.99.

pls excuse my pale deformed toes! The color is a lot darker/almost black in real life. The flash makes it look too silver {the fingernails on the left are more true to color}.

ive been debating on purchasing lenses for awhile at first i really didnt get the idea of sticking something in ur eyeball just to change the color.. whats the point?! UNTIL, i joined the blog world and saw/read so many other bloggers beautiful sparkling eyes!! lol

i got mine at pinky paradise, they are very reasonable, and shipping wasn't too bad (2 weeks?)

love these contacts they are so pretty and look pretty natural plus they are super comfy more so than the barbie brown contacts (scroll down below) or is it just my eyes?? LOL

These contacts really do make my eyes larger. They also make the eyeball color around my pupil lighter, usually my eyes tend to look all black because my pupil and iris are both dark brown. They were slightly uncomfortable at first (but i guess that goes with being a contact newbie!) however as the day went on i didnt even notice they were there.

Now i know this is not a conventional primer but i love they way its soo soft & smooth and makes applying eyeshadow so easy+it makes your eyeshadow colors more pigmented, like a primer and u dont need a brow highlighter (i put this on my ENITRE eyelid).
why?? The primer potion has amazing eyeshadow staying power however, i did not like the consistency of the product on my eyelid.

2.Moisturizer

Hello DHC Q10 Milk Moisturizer

why?? i like moisturizers & wanted to try something different.
this moisturizer is really light and little watery but i do love the hydration it gives my skin. There is also no SPF thats what foundation is for? i would recommend this as a night moisturizer.

why?? Mac's studiofix really dehydrated my skin + revlon is so much more wallet friendly
I had a visit with my dermatologist a couple of wks ago hoping he would shed some light on why my skin was so dry when i moisturize like crazy! He insists it was b/c of my beloved Mac studiofix foundation, so i switched. First up Nars Sheer Flow foundation that i ordered from Sephora.com. I loved the it at first, till my mom noticed the color was more than a little "off" LOL so i swapped it (for a coastal scents palatte and some apt 9 jewelry).
Next up Revlon's photoready foundation which ive read some pretty great reviews from fellow and not to mention gorgeous beauty bloggers like Cydia and Nikki. I really like the coverage and they convenience of the pump, ready to go on every bottle=)
** me and Cydia wear the same NC 30 in studiofix but when i went to target i couldnt help looking at 005 thinking that looks dark so i got the 004 but when i got home maybe it wasnt so dark after all..

darrnnnn! i shouldve got the 005 LOL

LACE Tutorial #2 Lacie Nails!

on their hands har har!

Supplies Lace (rhinestone lace optional) and a nail kit i used Nailene, it wasnt bad minor air bubbles fit my nails well +easy to apply. Make sure your kit comes with glue=)

*first off, make sure ur nails are clean and free from polish, dirt, etc..*

glue lace to the entire TIP of the nail
tip* if your lace has rhinestones position the rhinestones on the nail

After you are done cutting your lace, apply a couple coats of clear nail polish on the lace and the nail (this seals the nails and keeps the ribbon from fraying)

the first couple took me a while, but once i got the hand of it, the other 7 were a breeze lol

now apply them to your own nails with the glue!

voila! you're done uber easy right?

now go make your own!

Lace Bow Tutorial

i have received some emails about the bow shirt seen here so i decided to try and recreate the look that anyone could do *for the not so domestic goddess* like me! LOL

your supplies:

i purchased the lace at walmart the thicker lace is the one im going to use for this project and it was about $2.00 a yard which is just right. The other lace has rhinestones and will be used for an *upcoming DIY*

you can only go around your look 1x if u want a single layer bow.

take the lace by wrapping it forward

and under again

you should sew this part (yea with a needle and thread) if u want a durable bow

(this is the purpose of going around the twice)

pink on both sides of the bow for security and if you wash the shirt u can always take the bow off.

you're done! yay you!

hi everyone! meet my sissy=)

isn't she adorable! I did her makeup using the shady lady palatte and blending Makeout Mary (on the lid) and Mischevious Marissa. I lined her eyes with black eyeliner and used Rimmel mascara. She was going to a country music concert and wanted a "fun" look i think it's very tropical(;
speaking of tropical, my bfs sister sent me [not US, because i horde all of this away before my bf even lays eyes on the package] some goodies from Hawaii..

if you visit Hawaii (Oahu) you gotta check this place out! It's open on the weekends, and Tuesdays i think? There are tons of souvenir items all at very CHEAP prices! You can even negotiate with 'em=) You can also drink coconut juice right out of a coconut and theres this little stand in the back that sells kim-chee and cuddlefish products if u stand around long enough (like me and my bf) this little old lady offers to make you some sushi! sOoOoo yummy {just make sure u have plenty of breath mints}

My Urban Decay Primer Potion *finally* arrived is Sephora always this sample happy? (im not complainin')..

As soon as my primer arrived i knew exactly what i wanted to slab all over it.. my two faced eyeshadow in Trixie..ive had this for a couple of months and was truly disapointed by the color, or lack thereof all u could see when swiped 5x were some glitter pigments here and there.
BUT NOW... i actually see the pretty iridescent purple color=D (this was only swiped 1x)
and it was quite a task wiping it off my hand too!

Next up Ren Revitalising Cream:

-straight from the box a multi bio active night cream formulated to leave your sin hydrated, nourished and revitalized.
-has Vitamin A/C/E
-ginger smell
-goes on sheer, not sticky
-will test until the .5 fl oz run then post an update=)

Ive never tried Bare Minerals before and a little frightened (im so used to my trusty liquid foundation, how the hell do i apply this stuff??) anyone got any tips?

I really, really wanted the Urban Decay primer [that many bloggers have done wonderful reviews on!] however, decided i needed to save $$, then 5 min after returning home decided i couldn't live w/o it and ordered it online [the closest sephora is abt 30 min away] and paid an extra $5.95 for s/h wth?! oh well i guess i paid for the free samples lol.

ever watch L.A. ink? [even if you don't] U gotta love, love her!

Wahoo's and Eyeshadow

Now for the eyeshadow: Revlon's Colorstay Mineral Eyeshadow in Smoky Quartz..

no primer! i ran out so i just used my foundation as a base.
{pls excuse my bunched up fake eyelashes i was in a rush to go to wahoo's! lol}

once again, this eyeshadow is much more sparkly and vibrant than in pictures
{i need a new camera, the one i have now is falling apart!}

i used the pink on the brow line
the light brown on my eyelid
the dark brown on my eyelid crease

love this shadow it glides on so smoothly and lasted pretty much the whole day plus it didn't irritate my eyelids!!

in other news: this wknd has been so relaxing just doing absolutely nothing lol I've been a little post happy lately due to the fact school hasn't started yet and ive just been working {part time at a dermatologists office i don't do anything important mostly just prep patients to be seen by the doctor} but they do give me some pretty cool samples n stuff and last week i received some yummy products that i will def be sharing in the form of a GIVEAWAY happening within the week=)

HAH! i wish!

sOo i tried the red lippie and for some reason its looking pinkish and dull on my computer=( (wtf!, i swear it was a bright red!) It wasn't a total tragedy, however, i really didnt like the way the red clashed with my hair and my bf said i looked like a tranny [which i have actually grown accustomed to taking as a compliment. I think i have the clubbing days to thank for that *could it be the eyelashes??*] anyways...

i think red works better with more neutral colored clothes. The red lips+ top just made my eyes hurt after awhile =/
