DIY: Snow Nails

30 comments

All you need is some some Kosher Salt, nail glue {it comes in a little tube, I got mine from Target}, and some clear top coat.
1. Paint your nails red {or any color you like}
2. After the polish is completely dry apply a line of nail glue to the tips of your nails
3. Now for the fun part:) dab your nail one by one into the kosher salt
[I just brushed off the excess salt using a toothpick]
4. Press the salt firmly onto your nails
5. Wait till they are completely dry and generously add a top coat
[if you have patience, wait till the top coat dries and add another coat]

 voila!

Guest Blogger Aleya: Celebs Who Set Trends

1 comments
Aleya was kind enough to contact me showing interest in guest blogging on my site:)

Celebrities To Watch
The world has looked to celebrities to lead the way in fashion and beauty for centuries. At first, celebrities were people who were famous because of their family name or financial freedom. Later it was the people that were written about in the papers. However once the big screen was invented the true celebrity was born. Finally we were able to see her as she truly is and since the media loves actresses and musicians as much as the rest of us do we’re always able to keep up with her latest looks. Here are some of the ladies who set the standards of beauty that the rest of us love to watch.
Emma Watson- Before our very eyes Emma has grown up and is now a beautiful young woman who has gotten the attention of the masses. The 21 year old actress amped up her look by trading in her signature curly locks for a fabulous pixie cut. She is now one of the most influential starlets in Hollywood and is inspiring young women to glam up their look.
Angelina Jolie-If you’ve ever considered getting lip injections it’s probably because you’re channeling your inner Jolie. Women (and men) all over the world covet this stars lips because they have a naturally luscious pout. If that were it however we would all move on, but let’s face Angelina’s uncommonly beautiful and a humanitarian. How can she be anything but a trendsetter?

Anne Hathaway- Want to know how to wear makeup if you have fair skin and dark hair? All you have to do is take inspiration from Anne. She can usually be spotted in either a bold makeup look with red lipstick and dark eye makeup or a natural looking makeup style. Either way, she always looks classy and sophisticated.

Jennifer Aniston- This girl next door is so popular that she had a hairstyle named after the character who made her who she is today. Millions of women ran to their hairdresser asking for ‘The Rachel’ cut back in the 90s so that they could look like her. Today we look to Jennifer for great skin, a beautiful smile and braided hair. Not bad at all.

Christina Hendricks- Most redheads like to stay away from red lipstick, but in Christina’s case it’s the color that she seems to wear most often proving once and for all that redheads can wear red look amazing in it. She also has a confidence about her that’s refreshing and uplifting
.
Rihanna- Perhaps the most diverse of everyone on this list, Rhianna loves to reinvent herself and try new things every day. She loves color and is often seen with dramatic looking makeup and hair that work to bring out her best features. Madame Tussauds wax doll doesn’t do her enough justice
.
We love our celebrities for the inspiration that they give us to try different things and always look our best.

Thank you Aleya!!

TUTORIAL: Making Bracelets Into Necklaces

11 comments
So you're in the store and you see a jewelry collection that catches your eye and{since the majority of us can't afford to get the necklace and the bracelet + its gaudy being too matchy-matchy lol} you have a difficult time deciding do I get the bracelet or the necklace?
Get the bracelet.
It's usually less expensive and with this tutorial you can turn it into a necklace whenever you please:)

First you need a bracelet I'm using a Juicy Couture charm bracelet

and about 1 yard of ribbon {I got mine from Michaels} and a needle and some thread that matches your ribbon {i got this kit from the 99 cent store}
Photobucket

1. cut the ribbon in half
Photobucket

2. loop one end of the ribbon through the clasp and fold it over--about an inch or so {be sure to do this to the back of the bracelet}
3. Thread your needle and carefully {don't poke yourself!} weave the needle in and out

4. Bind off
5. Repeat to the other side
Voila! tie the lose ends together and you're all set.

It also comes with a manual so you know exactly what temperature to set the flat iron to. However, the setting I would normally set it to didn't straighten my hair I had to turn it up to the higher heat setting.

Shady Lady by The Balm Palatte Vol. 3 Review and Swatches

8 comments

I've had this palatte for awhile but decided to do a review on it NOW because it is on Hautelook and if there are any readers interested on purchasing the palattes I though it would be helpful.
First off, I really like the Balm products especially the e/s. They're very pigmented and with the proper primer last all day.
 All 3 volumes are on sale on Hautelook now for only $19.50 each!!
steeeaaaaaalll!

The first thing I noticed about this palatte were how vibrant the colors were, especially compared to the Shady Lady Vol. 2 palatte. But to be honest, none of the colors really WOWED me. {Well i take that back, I've developed a crush on come hither heather and guilty gwen reminds me a lot of mac black tide e/s} When i first opened the palatte I was a little confused about the "lusty lee" e/s lol {c'mon light blue, really?} however, when swatched it looks more pearl than light blue. bottom line: I would NOT re-purchase this palatte and if you don't own any of them I would suggest the vol 2 palatte:) I ordered another vol. 2 palatte and the vol.1 palatte from Hautelook.

Hana BLACKLABEL Shineshield Review

Hana Blacklabel Shineshield Review
When I first received this product I was very excited to try it out mainly because I don't use any products to prevent my hair from heat damage {and believe me my hair dryer and flat iron are used and abused!}
I apply this product to my hair after shampoo/conditioner and my leave in conditioner treatment. The first thing I notice about all hair products is the smell. The Hana Shineshield has a nice, light floral scent to it. The product has a light consistency which made it easy to run through my hair {a little of this stuff goes a long way}. I've used this product for about a week now and I have noticed my hair is smoother and no longer has that "damaged", rough feel to it lol My hair also looks shinier and feels A LOT healthier. The price is $44.99 which {to me} is a more on the expensive side. However, I definitely feel it is worth it if you do have color treated hair {that's me} and/or your hair is damaged. Thank you Missiko!
